The Butterfly Effect (2004)
The film’s story can not be retold easily, it is probably better just to watch it and make ones own conclusions…
The Butterfly Effect offers the metaphor, of course, in ultrasound form—but offers as well, and more immediately, a ferociously clear example. By holding close for as long as it takes, looking hard, narratography would find in the grain—quite literally, the graininess—of that film’s climactic and twice remediated image (ultrasound monitor by 16 mm and then by digitally enhanced 35 mm film) a further thickening of significance. The whole idea of structural scale is reconfigured by this mode of tighter calibration—yet with no surrender of cultural scope. Quite the opposite.

I saw this film, but no memories are left. Why? Because of primitive psichological story. All people have some effects similar to Ashton’s, but nobody sees problems in it. In my opinion, the film is to simple and boring according to its possibilites to tell considerably more.

You are valuating and not analyzing it. Are you a film critic?

Sorry, if this website is just for film critics. Everyone has its own opinion, I thought I can tell my own. I know quite good the science of pshychology. And this film touches very trivial things. Maybe it could be interesting for kids.

What are you talking about – this site is not only for film critics! The thing is – to say “good” or “bad” is very easy and simple, but to interpretate the context or hidden message is damn more difficult. That is what this site for – to analyze a film, or book, or something and not simply critisize describing something as good or bad, lets leave that job for critics!
